so since last week, the lecturer assigned us to choose 2 sites each in the city to study and tried to placed the proposed studio in... i was particularly fascinated by the alleyways or lane ways which appear to be gap spaces in between buildings... these gap spaces are similar to what im interested in finding throughout my design process and material-molding process as i would like to utilize the spaces left in between one solid and another into some interesting transitional spaces....moreover, these alleyways are filled with graffiti and i want the proposed studio that seemed like the parasitic wall graffiti that alters the image of the initial wall to its surrounding by slowly being added, grown, morphed...these lane ways also provide some sense of privacy to the proposed studio spaces...
still continue discovering various possibilities of the materials, especially on casting and moulding stuffs, i tried to change the spherical shape (balloon) into squares (cube shaped jelly).. to experiment how does quality within a space get affected when its multiple cubes that formed the cutout (negative) space within the cube space (positive) itself... just to explore their contradiction with each other...
